just wondering if you guys have actual experience with these two turbo's in a twins setup with stocker being used w/external waste gate. what are the pro's and con's of the S400 vs. the B2.
 
B2 is an S400. There are several different versions of the S400. The one that is called a B2 measures about 75mm on the compressor inducer, and around 96mm on the turbine exducer. Exhaust housing is 1. 34 ar. Rotation is the same.
 
may as well use a hybrid on the top, doesnt cost much to rework your stocker, b2/s400 is a great bottom charger. spools fast and screams.
 
I heard a rumor that you can put a 91mm wheel in a 400 frame... ... . that would move some air.



Most people look at a turbo for what it is, I look at it for what it can become! Look at a stock S300, nice turbo but not anything big deal. Now look at what you can do with them.

well i bit the bullet and ordered all my turbo parts today. i decided to bag the stocker and went S400 with an S300. what do you all think?
 
a friend of mine own's Performance Authority here in bend oregon and will do all the piping for me. he has been wanting to do this setup, and set up a jig for the piping. all i have to do is front the parts money.
 
Maybe you couild make up a few extra sets of piping when you get it figured out, bet some people here would buy the sets. I don't know how much it would cost, but I might be interested. . S-300 and S-400 turbo twins are a pretty popular set up
 
we'll see how everything goes first. but that is a possibility. i'll have less than 2k in the whole setup, and everyone that sells a similar kit want's 4500-5500 for the same thing. (no mark up in twins huh). can't wait till the parts get here.
 
OK, here we go with the excessively marked up twins again. :rolleyes:



800-900 for s300

550-650 for s400

350-400 for 4" and 5" pipe elbows

35-45 for an air filter

25-30 for oil drain for top charger

20-25 for oil drain on bottom charger

15-20 for silicone boots

40-50 for blow off valves and bungs to install them

25-30 misc metal for flanges

35-40 for hx40 outlet flange

60-70 for charger outlet clamps

50-75 for oil feed lines to chargers

5-10 for oil return lines

25-30 for oil drain nipple that goes in block

25-30 for header wrap on hot pipe

10-15 for schedule 40 pipe for hot pipe

20 for hose clamps on boots

400 for manifold that usually comes with a KIT

misc materials, welding gas, wire, bolts, etc

shipping on parts????



Adds up fast. Not to mention most people do not work for free

sorry to hit a nerve:-laf i don't know of anything else that you can get 100 plus percent markup on. the only labor involved in a kit would be building the piping. if you where to buy a 5000 dollar kit then have someone install it then there would be more.

don't take any of this wrong, i have lots of respect for the things you have done lmills. i think i am getting antsy... ... ... . LOLOo. Oo.
 
no nerve hit. Its just that if you have the skills, or the resources to do it, you can save some money. But, for the average person that wants a bolt on kit, the price is average. Agreed, some places want more than there kits are worth. I won't mention the names, but if people look around they can see for themselves. Personally my latest kit was built by me. Even with getting stuff at wholesale, it kills me to know what I will have in them.
