CA/ID sled pulls in July

AZ Cummins

Well first thanks so much to all that came I'm very pleased with the turnout and hope you all were as well, the way I see it , it can only get better. One of the things we talked about was club name, well lets hear your thoughts. We've had suggested "NORCAL DIESELS" as well as "WEST-CENTRAL BOMBERS" any more idea's or opinions on those lets hear em' and please don't be bashfull. Thanks again and I'll work on finding a better meeting place for next time. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL and for those that missed out we'll see ya next time. JEFF

Club Name

I like "Norcal Diesel Club" or "Delta Diesel Club".

I would say that the first meeting was much more then just successful. It was a profound statement that there are interested folks in the Sacaramento area and the future looks bright for the future of this chapter.

Jeff thanks for all the effort. Great turn out. Looks like a Sacramento area chapter is possible. As for a name how about?

"RCDC" (River City Diesel Club)

I will toss in "West-Central Diesels".

Had a great time with all of you. Look forward to our next meeting and kudos to Gary for bringing the FP gauge and sound meter. I know that Hector had a set of stock aluminum wheels for sale, too. I feel strongly that when more folks read about our first get together we will have more make it to our next get together. And to that, I say Bravo!

I'd sorta like to see a bit more emphasis on the "diesel" aspect of the group - the common use and perception of "bombers" has reached the point that the uninformed might think we are some sort of terrorist cell... :D :D

IF the group DOES seem to be most centered in the Sacramento area, maybe "Delta Diesels" or "NorCal Dieselers"...

You know Gary that is a good point, while I hate to think the world has come to this point, truth is I'll put the name of our group on my truck and I would say most don't know OUR meaning of BOMBING I might just get more attention then I want so I withdraw West-Central Bombers. And let me sleep on it for awhile.

Jeff- I was discussing recently a Bombing event we have coming up and got some real strange looks and suspicious glares from some evesdroppers. It took a minute to figure out what was going on.

We have placed the term *Bomb* to have a new meaning, and I never gave it a second thought til recently. Sad but true, it is a sign of our times. With due respect to the times, I am trying to no longer use the term Bomb.

:D :D One vote for "Nor-Cal Diesels" Says it all in a few words. It seems that there is more than just Sacramento Diesels involved so why not make the statement fit. I really wish I could have made it to the meeting. Was there a determination as to when the next one will be? I hope we don't wait to long.

All though I didn't make it to the meeting the reason I missed was fixed. No more water leak and no more floor damage. All new hardwood floors. Hopefully no more emergencies for the next meeting.

But Gary, we *ARE* a terrorist cell ... we love to terrorize the EnviroNazis with great clouds of thick, black smoke :-laf #@$%! :-{} :-laf

NOR-CAL DIESEL is in the lead. I plan to research a place with better seating arangements for the next gettogether so we'll see but i would like to mention that there is a truck pull down in Ripon at the stockton raceway it would be nice to have a little show of support. Brandon, I'm sure you'll be there give us a little info if you can it is march 15th I believe. If there is enough interest maybe that could be our March gettogether? I know that is away from Sac but I just don't want to only give 3 weeks notice to our next gettogether and have people unable to attend. Tell me what you think. Jeff

Yep the 15th it is, I will be there, I might even pull no compitition though for those big fellers. First event of the season if you haven't seen one of these pulls check them out, there awsome. Bring the family my son loves it and you will be helping to support and very popular up and comming sport here on the west coast.

Thanks for the link Scott. I hear ya lets show some support maybe I could even bring my trailer down to tow ya home when you break somethin. LOL

an extra trailer on hand is a good thing if you don't mind. . never know when someone might break. .

I should be available to drag a broken one home if there is a trailer available ... I can only use a pull type right now v/s a GN [I'll have a GN hitch some day soon]

Thats exactly the kind of support some of us may need some day. It's nice to have friends. I shouldn't break at my current power level but you never know in this sport.

BBD

Actually guys I was just kiddin, bringin a trailer would ensure someone breaking and then it would be my fault. You pullin to willy?

somewhere down the road I will... however the clutch I have in there will not take it... so after I get the next higher level of clutch I'm in... I have one of the first HO SBC clutches. . it's done well but it won't handle the sled loading start up

Jeff:

I plan to make the pulls, don't know if it would be a good place to hold an official meeting, lots of distractions, if you get my drift. I know of a few more Fords that will attend. It will be a good place to hook up with other local diesels from all flavors, as this pull has a following on

www.diesel-central.com

and I will start a thread on

www.thedieselstop.com
