First of all I want to thank very much whoever it was that posted the info about Auto Zone having the OEM Sachs clutch for the first gen trucks. Cost is $499. 99.
When I ordered the set, the Auto Zone guy couldn't belive the price but I told him that indicates it is the right one. The box it comes in says Dynamax (or some other hokey name) but what's inside is a Made in Germany, Sachs branded, top notch clutch set-13" disc, cast iron clutch cover and OEM throwout bearing.
Pep Boys and some other places offer a cluth for about half the price as the Auto Zone unit but it is just the LUK brand 94-97 12. 25" unit with stamped steel cover.
Just FYI: The info on the Sachs web site rates a 330mm (13") clutch (the one 1st gens use) at 750 Newton Meters (550 lbf-ft) max torque and the 310 mm (12. 25") clutch at 600 Newton Meters (440 lbf-ft) max torque.
