Sacramento/North Bay Cummins owners...

Any recommendations for a competent Cummins shop to perform a "performance" tuneup on a first generation engine? I've checked with the Cummins shop in west Sac, but they seem VERY resistant to do any adjustments to the engine in variance from the book... I've added the stuff noted below in my sig, and made minor adjustment to the injector pump as specified by Banks - but have no doubt that a knowledgeable shop could improve performance substantially above what I now obtain - I've never had anything more than a couple of valve adjustments done in over 106,000 miles...

Any help?

My experience with Cummins West in Sacramento, is that any work they do on the engine, it will be done to factory spec's. If you want anything done that might be towards what they call bombing, then go to a good fuel injection place. I recommend Wentland Diesel Injection, in Oregon, good people and they do good work.

again, i went to stockton diesel collins
and was not happy w/ them. if u want details in car give them 2 u.
best bet take a week to go to vegas but make appt asap like now, w. / 1 of them they
will impress u very much ,bill

get a hold of me by email for what you want exactly but I'm sure we can help you at RPM(Rohnart Park Machine). Its the same place we've been doing all the dyno work on diesels with HVAC and myself. Very competant shop with knowledge about your pump and the word is that you guys are going to get another choice from Piers for injectors.
