Dennis (the airhorn menace) is getting close to 14 flat. Pretty good for the first time out the gate:)

I have no traction so I was testing a modification to my twin turbos system. My first run I blew a air to air clamp at 61 psi just when I hit third gear. I caught an excellent light. The second trip I was rather surprised when I got the pro tree!:eek: I mashed it and fish tailed down the track. When it started to hook up at half track I lost a different air to air clamp. This time I was making 65 psi!!! Sure surprised the folks in the bleachers:D

One thing that kinda sucked is they were saving the inside lane for the pro cars. This means that only one street rig could go at a time. Normally we run the whole street class, then the pro class.

This system resulted in a long slow moving line all the way back to the pits.

Thanks to the fifteen or so trucks that showed up.

One thing, we gotta find a hot Ford in the Sacramento area to race with. We need some friendly competition:)

Well, my new Hot Edge Comp box did pretty good. This was only my second race day, so I am still figuring out how to do this thing. But I got my reaction time down from 1. 5 to . 7 seconds. Mt ET still sucks, 16. 9, but my speed was decent at 90. 19 MPH. I think my biggest problem is learning when to shift optimally. I launch in 2nd gear at about 1200 RPM, and run each gear up to 2700+ RPM. I barely make it into 6th by the time I am getting close to the speed trap, but if I shift at too low of RPM, the lag from my HX40 kills me getting up any speed with that next gear. Oh, well. I'm personally more interested in my terminal speed than ET.

My first time on a strip. Had a ball!:D Am considering changing my handle to "asleep at the wheel" though! Even with a very slow 1. 2 reaction and the fact the transmission wouldn't shift into overdrive with full throttle, had a pretty good time. The speed was down but the truck launched good. If we only raced for 60' I'd hang in there pretty good with some of the other rigs.

Thanks to all that helped me and got me headed down the trac the right way:) Heck, the wife wasn't even mad!(maybe thats because I didn't break anything)

Gary, traction wasn't too good. All of us slipped pretty bad for the first 60' or so. Nowel couldn't hook up either, and then he blew hose clamps on the intake side both trips down the 1/4. Darn that 60+ #'s of boost anyway :D

1 st gen timers

i ran 17. 4 at about 79

good mph , 1. 1 reaction time

smoked 2 nd gear

did burnout truck went sideways i stayed in it

and had to turn front wheels

shifted only 4 to 5th at 2500 rpm

next time ill shift all at 2500 and run a 16. 9

i did not know pump was not fueling much at 3000

my hp is up to 250 -260 at rear tires

not bad for a 7000 lb 1 st gen ( driver in it)

and i removed 300 lbs at this run

no tool box spare or tail gate

getting faster 1 st gen any 1 st gens running more
