I read some posts on the 3rd gens revving 3500 rpms, as mine does also, and saw where Cummins says 4300 rpms is about the limit for this engine. Don't the 5. 9 cummins get revved a good bit more that 4300 in certain factory applications? Do those engines come with different internal parts? I've heard of some equipment running the 5. 9 5500 rpms on a daily basis. I haven't witnessed it thought. I have saw some of the top sled pulling trucks wind them up pretty hard. I don't know exactly how tight they run them, but it sure sounds like more than 4300 rpms. A LOT MORE. Just curious on the subject really.
