Competition Safety Kill Switch

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
Here where I live, the class that I pull in is not required to have much safety equipment on their trucks. However, I can't count the number of driveshafts I've seen come loose and even hitches breaking. I'm going to try to get ahead of the game and fabricate some loops and u joint guards. My question is: What's a good way to set up a kill switch for a 24V dodge?

Input is appreciated.

I think your best bet is to put a air Guilltine(Air shutoff) inline just before the intake

When there is no air theres noway the fuel can burn

I had seen some discussion on another page about electric ones. Wasn't sure. Does anyone manufacture guillitines or will I have to fabricate my own?

I am pretty sure that diesel darryl poole makes them, not sure how much. I saw in the recent issue of diesel power they talk about scheid's making one that has dual cords on it... one for the back of the truck and one for inside the cab. Hope this helps.

I am a big fan of the Chawlyn valve because its super easy and takes hardly any room. One other valve I liked was actually in a pic I saw in one of the diesel mags a few months back (could have been a year) it was an artical about the ATS truck and they actually ran a Guilltine but instead of cables going to the cab and the truck they had a nice little solinoid on it and therefore just had it wired to a switch in the cab and the break away switch on the bumper. Pretty trick and easy and no more messing around with cables. I am just in the works of getting ready to put a Chawlyn on my truck and if I hadn't done that it would have been the solinoid on the guillotine.
