Suggestion,
TDR has been a great place for me to find out about any of my DC needs. Money cant buy everything, thats why we have TDR. On a safty note I have been a maint. man for most of my life. Been at this old water plant for over 21 years and just received a 17 year safty award
(knock on wood).
What concerns me is that some of these readers could be injured trying to use this most valuable information.
Would like to suggest a safty link. This might keep someone from getting mashed ,burned, cut, ect.
I can remember in 1981 my dad stopped on the side of the road to help a broken down car. He took his cigar ligter held it over the battery to check the water level and BOOM. Dad was blinded for 6 months. The people at the closest house would not let him in at first thought he had been in a knife fight.
The key to safety is:Know your limits.
Thanks for your time.
Tim

Reminds me of a high school shop teacher who came to class one day with burned off eye brows and lashes, the turkey used a match to check the fuel level in his motorcycle.

I know what you mean by safety being a farmer, one of the high risk groups. I don't think that a separate forum would work though, people wouldn't visit it. Think it's better if when a person sees something posted that is potentially dangerous that they post a warning,I've done this before about the hazards of high pressure diesel, unsecured loads, disabling air bags when working close by and wearing jewelry while near electrical components. Safety is something that people need to be reminded of all the time or they get lax and injuries happen.

Bill you are probably right. I would never think about safety in the past but I got tired of PAIN and wearing cast and having to drink (eat)trough a straw with a broken jaw. We most all get older and wiser and try to not make the same mistakes twice.
I dont know exactly how to set it up . But it would be nice for me to know that I helped save someone their eyesight or limbs.
This web sight is drawing attention to areas of the trucks where many non-mechanicly inclined people will want to work.
Ha moderators please think about it.
Is there any safety related sights in TDR? Reason I ask is that I'm still new to TDR and may have missed it. I know how people feel about safety, some care, some don't.

Bill & Tim,

I think respect for safty is almost always learned the hard way. For example, a log rolling down hill at you after you have been warned many times to not walk below a log in the woods if you can help it, kind of drives the point home. Survivors tend to be more safty concious.
