ENGINE COVER SAFETY RECALL

For any who have moved and may not have received the notice. A copy of this safety recall is attached in PDF format.

This is for 2013 model year RAM trucks equipped with a Cummins. (Both 2500 and 3500)

PROBLEM
The engine cover on the passenger side of the truck may cause a condition where it could cause engine components to overheat and possibly cause fire.

FIX
Takes dealer 30 min to replace cover.

Check to see that they have it in stock as there is a massive shortage of new covers at present due to this recall.

I wonder if this is the foam cover that was re-called earlier in the year or is this something new.

That recall has been out for quite a while.

I don't think many Rams got out with that cover. Urban legend has it that a lot of 2013rams sat in holding compounds and replacing that cover before delivery was one reason.

I think that one of the Ram's on display at the Cummins factory tour had this foam cover. It looked like the Bat wing over the Egr cross over tube just very floppy.

I have only seen 2 and neither one had any heat damage. Might make a nice decoration on the garage wall
