Sagging Door Hinge

Finally, a straight forward and simple job with BIG results.

Replaced the lower, drivers side door hinge today and it took all of about 30 min. with the help of my wife.

The hinge cost 42. 80 through a friend at a Dodge dealer.

I can now give the door a little shove and it closes.

The best part, NO SUPRISES.

That sounds great! My driver's side door hangs low enough that when fully closed, I can see through it in the top-forward corner. Looks like I'll be goin to the "stealer" myself soon.



Do you happen to have the PN? I have a 1990 regular cab, W250.

Sometimes if the hinge is too worn, the pin and bushing kit won't totally fix the problem.



bkokotovic, if your door sags that much, don't waste your money on the pin kit and just get the whole hinge like walmor did.

are the hinge bolts going into the kick panel?



were they hard to get at?

Drives Mopars: I didn't even completely remove the kick panel. I just pulled it far enough away to get a rachet and 9/16 socket in there and removed them. There is a small opening behind the kick panel to access two of the bolts. The third one is removed from the outside with the door opened at just the right angle.

I put some Masking tape on the edge of the fender so I didn't chip the paint and then I used a long extension with a U-joint socket to remove it. I had the door supported on a floor jack so it couldn't drop. It might not hurt to have sombody stand by holding on to the door just for good measure.
