Sagging Door Hinges?

I know this has been addressed before, but I'm looking for advice on how to deal with sagging hinges on my 91 W250... I've seen kits to rebuild them, and replacement hinges... Any advice on how difficult they are to rebuild, good sources for new ones, etc?



Another thought... Unfortunately, my 91 has every dad gum power option ever created at the Dodge plant... The wire loom that runs into the door must be an inch thick with 12-16 gauge accessory wires (doesn't look easy to just unplug the whole mess somewhere)-- Any advice on how to deal with that mess if the entire door must be removed to fix the hinges (i. e. hot just replacing one hinge at a time, thereby negating the necessity to physically remove the door) would be greatly appreciated!

I have too hinge methods.



Both work well.....



I have removed the hinge and drilled out the pin holes oversized and use a long half inch bolt (no threads) to use as a pin



The other entails removing the lower hinge only and replacing the brass bushings and pin with the NAPA repair kit.



I never have removed the entire door. Just the lower hinge assy and the outboard half of the upper. I support the door at the bottom with a small floor jack and wood block

I went to Ace Hardware with the hinge pin and got a bronze bushing that it fit into, when I got home the bushing was slightly bigger than the hole in the hinge so I drilled out to the right size and the door is like new again. These bronze bushings were longer too, had to cut one for length at top or bottom, can't remember now. Quick fix right up the street and didn't cost that much, I do it again in a heart beat.

Thanks for the replys guys... I think I'm going to give that rebuild-with-a-bushing idea a try... Also glad it looks like I can remove that bottom hinge without removing the whole door/upper (looks ugly... )
