Two horney little devils!

Any comments on the Daytona race(July 7 2001)???

For vacation this summer, the wife and I are tentatively planning a trip from home to Salmon, ID where an old school friend of mine lives, and then up north to Glacier Park. While this is kind of my old stomping grounds, we never did the "tourist" things when I lived there (and, it was, well... 20+ years ago). If anyone has suggestions for things to do along the way that the kids would like, your input would be most appreciated. Also, any good places to stop with the Trailer near Missoula and the best camping places in/near Glacier Park would be great, as well.

We're expecting to do this somewhere between Aug 2 and Aug 12. And, we're doing it on a relatively slim budget...

Anyway, TIA!

Mark, there's a corn maze just north of Hamilton that should be ready by Aug 1. Cheap entertainment for the kids if they're into it, plus a new friend of mine gets to make 5 bucks a head off you. -Bill

Craters of the Moon between Carey and Arco. Actually it's 3 miles shorter than thru Sun Valley, depending on which way you are going or comming back. Was no charge last time we were there but no telling year to year.

Craters of the Moon was quite something. We stopped there in 1996 on our way back from Yellowstone. This time, however, we're going to Lewiston, over Lolo Pass, and then to Salmon. It's quite a bit shorter than through Boise and Stanley.

When we were there they just finishing up some building, and I understood there was more expansion planned in the near future. I'd like to see it again, but it won't happen this trip.

North Fork Country

Stop in at the USFS office in Salmon- get info on things and places up there as its neat country. In the late 60's my brother was the Ranger at North Fork and they did alot of nifty things to get some inexpensive recreation going. Used to have great fishing spots every time the road (93) crossed the river. Be interesting to see how it has held up. The old town of Gibbonsville has some history to it and was fun to visit. And you have the NezPearce trail along there to hike on.
