Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Same ol' Stuff??

Guys,

Have a new prob , for me, my 01 6spd, Dr. Performance stageIII, will loose power ,at cruise, heavy smoke, no throttle response, and then "fix itself " and run fine. Starts fine. No codes, new fuel filter. Could this be an APPS or other sensor issue? OR the VP44/LP route? they are stock @110K. No gauges yet?

PCM Glitch? Should set codes if so??? Does this happen when ever at a cruise or intermittently? Could be APPS though . . . if it reports to PCM wrong could be why loss of power, but if reporting to Inj pump correctly could be why black smoke. Inj pump delivering more fuel and pcm saying noooooo??? Not sure. I'd try resetting the APPS and see if it happens again.

Nuther dumb q. How is the APPS reset? Still learning cause I anit dead!
