Samsung N400 cell phone has a mind of its own!

Hey y'all, I thought I would start a thread to see if I am the only one who has a posessed phone or not. Here's the deal. Sometimes, the phone will ring one tone, sometimes another... it is programmed to only have one ring, and one only... sometimes, the screen freezes and the only way to get the phone to work is to pop the battery off, and hook it up again. . Other times, when I call a friend, say JOHN DOE, sometimes it will show JOHN, JOHN D, JO, or various other things as well... Do any of y'all have one of these phones that is doing similar things?? someone please chime in!

i had the same problems with my phone. it had a mind of its own. sometimes with a full charge on it the battery would only last 6 hours and other times 2 days and it didn't matter what kind of use. i took it back to sprint and they didn't seem surprised at all, in fact they where willing to give me a different phone but i wanted the same one. the n400 was still under warranty so they shipped me a new one and so far it is working ten times better. it has only been a week though so time will tell.

I thought I was the only one! I have had mine almost a year, and it is on it's third battery, which may still only last a couple of hours on a full charge. Sometimes it vibrates on it's own, often when I am at school in class, I turn it off completely so it doesn't interrupt class, but when I walk out and go to turn it on, it already is!



I catch all kinds of hell from the Ms. because sometimes it just doesn't ring, or show that I missed a call, or even register voicemail! All within an urban area with decent coverage!



On the up-side, when the calls come through, they are crystal clear, the phone is easy to use, and did work when it HAD to, case in point when I wrecked my truck and had to call 911 for the other guy in his Merc Topaz...

I have one of the first ones out and so far the only major issue I've had for the entire time is that the damn speaker phone just pops on sometimes!!! From time to time the battery will not hold a charge for more than four hours on stby, but it always fixes itself so who knows... I guess all in all in the 14 months I have owned it it's been a good phone.

well one week on the replacement phone and it is up to the same old tricks. looks like i will be getting a new phone .

if there are so many people that seem to have the same problems you would think that samsung would fix them. serves me right for thinking

UPDATE

Well, I finally snapped... . I have quite a temper, and usually can control it quite well... last night, the phone was ringing, so I went to answer it... the buttons froze up... this caused me to have a near-nuclear meltdown. . I could not answer the call, needed to, threw the phone, broke the antenna off, and here we are... phone still works fine, except for the fact that it has a 'banana antenna' (Derived from the rodeo term, Banana Horns to describe a bull with horns that wiggle) now. Oh well... I need a picture phone anyway. just an excuse to get a BOMB'd phone!!!!

I've been through more than my share of phones this way. I was trying to order concrete one day and got so pi$$ed I threw the phone against my truck and proceeded to pick them up and bury them in a footer. If I hadn't recieved this one as a gift from the live-in girl, it would probably have a similar fate.

Unfortunately my truck does see the business end of my temper from time to time. I actually got lucky that time and the phone hit the toolbox.



I do have a nice scar on the dash from a similar incident while sitting IN the truck though... :{
