San Antonio / Diesels of South Texas May picnic and Bar B Que

Hey everyone,



It has been a long long time since we have done anything here in the San Antonio area. I was thinking we could have a family bar b que and picnic here on Saturday May 22nd. I need to know if anyone would be interested in coming. We could do it at one of the larger parks in the mid afternoon on the 22nd. Maybe have everyone clean their rigs up and show them off. I will check to see where we can fit 15 to 40 trucks (who knows, right???) and maybe have some kind of area for us to set up and report back on Wednesday of this week. Anyone from any of the other clubs are welcome to come on down!! If anyone has any suggestions of parks are places to have this, please let me know. Look forward to seeing everyone out there!

The date is not in stone yet... Chris had called me yesterday afternoon, and we talked for a while, but We need some input on when it would be convenient for y'all. We want everyone to be able to make it, and not just some. Some isnt good enough... Let us know some convenient dates!

I would prefer the 29th, 22nd is already booked. There is a nice, lake side private park here that we can use, RV hookups too. Boat ramp and lake side fishing for the kids. There is a 50'x30' covered, concrete floor open place we could use for whatever too. Anyone want to drive to Marble Falls?

I believe I could get the grounds for free and RV sites for $15 a night.

I'd make the drive... . It's only 40 min. to Johnson City, and like 20 more to Marble Falls! Count me in on that idea. . Then the Austin guys may be interested in going as well!

I might be interested also. Is there a point person to contact. We would need the RV space and 15. 00 per night is very satisfactory.

29th is out for me I'll be in Florida



I confirmed no charge for grounds/fishing/camping. RV sites are $15/night. The covered area may or may not be available depending on if it is booked already. Perhaps we should move this back to mid June to allow extra time for people to plan for it.



I'd be happy to smoke a few briskets for Sat night dinner. We probably should take donations just to cover the food and fixins.



This sounds like fun, hopefully it will not die.



If anyone wants to do any wrenching I can have a air compressor there to run air tools. I can probably have a Chrysler Diesel Mechanic (and TDR member) attend to answer questions, give advice etc.



How about rebuilding a vacuum pump? I can demonstrate.

I have a bad vacuum pump... Would be glad to let you demonstrate on my rig! hehe, I am for later in the summer time as well! I will be out of town on the 29th, in Glenrose TX.
