Truck/Car Show

All Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle.....

Geez, Big D is away for MONTHS, and now he is turning into a post *****:D

I have to confirm w/ the wife, pretty sure we're going. Adjoining sites would be cool. Do we go up on Friday night or early Saturday morning???

Joe, Matt, don't forget about Coffee/BS night tonight in Derby!

EVERY Thursday!

Mark,

Thanks for the reminder but, no can do tonight. My daughter is due in from Texas :D

I plan on heading up first thing Saturday morning ;)

I plan on meeting the Massdiesel convoy up on 495N - the rest area we met at last year (where my buddy Dave was passed out in the front seat of his car... . ) was a good place... .

Does this sound good?

MTY

I think that we met at that rest area on 495N last year sometime around 6:30am. Does that sound right? I'm thinking that an early start would be preferable so that those whom are planning on racing have adequate time to sign in, tech inspection etc. By the way if you race, the tech guys will want to see a fire extinguisher in your truck. They let that one go last year for us but who knows this year.

Brian,

Good heads up on the fire bottle ;) They are pretty good to first time racers

However, helmets, everyone must have one. I had to borrowed one last year. You can pick up a good DOT approved one for $30 - $40.

Does the fire bottle have to be easily accessible to the driver while they are strapped in, or 'just in the cab' is good enough?

I thought 7-7:30 was the meeting time, but I don't care when it is... . I'll be there. Maybe my buddy Dave will be there too?!! haha

G`Morning Uncle Joe!

Sweet!

Dad has an old one out of an American LaFrance fire truck behind his seat.....

I bought an El-Cheapo unit for ~$20 about 5 years ago for the mud drags with the old truck.

the sand drags are actually in Cornish, ME. Ossipee is in NH right across the border (which is a couple miles away). i don't know why they didn't just call it the Cornish Fair Grounds:confused:

just some geography for yas. . (in case anyone cares, ha) ;)

MTY- you should race the roller skate:-laf

have a good time, eat plenty of lobster, and get some pics up if you can!

Tom

I don't think they'd let me enter a front-drive car... ... but that would be pretty funny..... haha :-laf

I'd bring it if I knew they'd let me race it... .

MTY

whats the plan

So who's in for the drags ?How about we meet at the same rest area on 495 north again sat morning at 7 am. Wanna have a cookout up their whoever is coming?

Hey, if you can go, you should. We had a great time last year. This is a regular county fair so there are lots of rides, booths giving prizes, horse pulls, and so forth. The central event is the sand drags which is a straight ahead 800ft (?) soft course and a real blast to watch. People race everything from atvs to trucks, to unlimited dune buggies. I am trying to recall if it is bracket racing or not. Anyway the soft course means there is less breakage, though some folks still seem to manage it if I recall.

Last year a few of us camped out overnight and had one heck of a cookout under the pine trees. In short, there was lots to do, and we had a blast!

MTE

(I wish I could go)
