When I lived in Oregon many years ago all the schoolbusses had air operated sanders at the rear wheels for a quick recovery from wheel slip (they didn't chain up). As I remember, many of the over the road trucks had the same arrangement. I haven't seen them for a long time. Are those sanders still made? Do drivers in the north use them? If they are still made does anyone have any experience with them on a pickup?

Thanks, guys,

david

Know what you are talking about - - looked like a 5 gallon GI jeep fuel can with discharge hoses on bottom - - had 'em new on a 1972 Ford C model sleeper - - - haven't seen 'em since - - - they did work as long as the sand was kept very dry.

They are still made check this out

Yeh, that's what I was thinking about--I forgot, but yeh they looked like a jeep can. I always wondered how to keep the sand dry. Can't find pricing on their web... probably v. expensive.

Thanks,

david
