Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Motto of wisdom

Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting 12 ga.

We carried one on the jet, could call home station from overseas just like you were talking on a cell phone. I never knew how much it cost but i can attest to the fact it should work anywhere you need it.

Dont know what it cost's USFS is picking up the tab. I just wanted to know if it indeed worked like advertised. Even Ford claims to be the best and we all know that aint true

I honestly don't remember what model we used but it looked very similar to the one you linked. You have to dial some extra numbers but it works, calls were very clear. It might take a few times to figure out but i thought it was great considering the options we had were null.

I know some guys in sw asia that carried them in the field.

Yea, they work, yea theyre expensive. You can buy time, but theyre still pretty spendy.

The Iridium is about the standard that others are judged by.

I had used a Sat phone and from my experience, they are quite expensive. Very handy if you are in a geographical location with no cell towers though. They are typically . 80 - 1. 50 per minute, if you call a land line.
