40 year snow storm in Portland, OR

FANTASTIC Movie - and TRUE

We got a new car and it came with satellite for 6 months.

Now the wife wants to have it available in the truck or other car.

What are my options?

Do I have to spend a pile of cash to get it in the 01 or the 02?

I don't need another hobby, she just wants to listen to radio.

Thanks

Jeff - - Just purchase a portable plug in radio and and a mobile kit and an extra antenna. Then just switch the radio to the vehicle you want it in. Don't re-register the unit that came in the car, just register the portable setup. If you want XM, the EX Express would fill the bill. I don't know the Siris units, but they have then. XM has some good deals right now, check on line - -

Are there things to look for?

Where is a good place to shop for them?

I like the idea of being able to use it in the vehicle we are in.

Jeff929 - - You didn't tell what you had - - Siris or XM - - But if you go to the Web under XM you should find everything you need. I have three XM's and the ones in the trucks are hard wired into the system and use an antenna switching unit hooked to the FM radio in the trucks. In the trailer (RV type) I use a XM Express with a mobile mount kit, and have it hooked to the AM/FM radio built into the trailer. The XM Express has both mobile mounts and home mounts and a boom box to use as a portable battery operated radio, so it is pretty versatile. The other option is to buy a unit for the truck, and put it on the same account as the first one, and it will be added in the family plan which is something like $6. 95 a month, then you wont have to move the radio. I think once you get used to having XM you won't want to be with out it. I am a news junky, so I have it on FOX or CNN Headline most of the time - - then go to Bill Mack on 171 and Truckin' Bozo in the afternoons. Never have to change stations - - - ever!

Try this - - - Just type this into your search engine XM Radio and you will find all kinds of stuff.

The new car has Siris built in, we are thinking to let it expire.

Then, the SIL has offered to put us on her family plan, also Siris, for the other car/truck radio.

I really don't know anything about them other than there is XM and Siris.

That would be the thing to do - - at about $7. for each you cant beat it - - I would buy a portable set and a mobile mount for the truck and use both
