satellite radio updates channels all the time

Every time I start the truck, after it's been turned off for a minute or more, the satellite radio has to update the channels. It just started doing this about two weeks ago. Not a major issue, just annoying for the 30 seconds to 3 minutes it takes for the radio to update. My technician at work reports that his wife's Charger does the same thing. Anyone else have this problem? If you turn the truck off and re-start it in less than about 30 seconds, it doesn't re-update.

Mine was doing that the other day, and i just had it on the key acc. listening to the radio. Don't know what was going on.

Mine started about two weeks ago. I turned the radio on first thing one morning and it flashed "System Hot" on the screen and then went to its normal mode. It was not hot inside the truck nor outside. But ever since then it does the "updating channels" on the schedule I mentioned before.



This happened to me before with the aftermarket satellite radio I installed in my 97. I did not feed a constant 12v to the satellite box, ran it off the key. Once I followed the directions it was fine.

Yep my 2010 had this happen. I called the satellite radio company they ran test signals to my pickup and determined that it was the radio in the pickup having issues not on there side. They were right, took it to the dealer and they had to re-flash the module for the radio, ever since all is fine. Only thing that is odd is every once in a while for about three days I think the radio goes through some sort of systems check and deletes one presets at a time, then after that time its all normal again.

wow, I had the "deleted one preset at a time" problem from when the truck was brand new UNTIL the "updating channels" problem started two weeks ago.



thanks for the update, I'll make an appointment and take the truck in to have the module for the radio re-flashed.

Keep me updated about the preset issue if you ask them about it. I have not asked my dealer about it yet so wondering what thats all about.
