I.E 7 Problem...

My daughter's fiance inherited a 1995 Saturn SW2 from his mother, who died when he was seven. It was pretty much all he had left to remember her by. The car has an actual 50K miles on it, and until last night, was in great condition. Someone cut him off on the freeway, and he went straight into a concrete abutment. The air bags deployed and the front end bent downward. The car itself soaked up a whole lot of impact energy, and he's going to be OK.

Repairing the front space frame is beyond my capability, and he didn't carry collision insurance. (He's young and just getting started in life. ) The engine was dislodged, but it appears to be intact. Does anybody in the Phoenix Arizona area know of a really inexpensive circa 1995 SL2 or SW2 with a bad engine? I think I can make that swap. Thanks for looking. :eek:

Hope you find something. I wish I was closer, I have a '96 SW2 that's been sitting for 2 years, won't pass emissions here in Houston - it burns quite a bit of oil. We brought it here from Michigan when we moved, and it sits there by the barn waiting for us to do something with it.

Don't give up yet. I'm sure *someone* in the diesel world will be dead-heading from Houston through Glendale some time. (MMeyer in Vegas comes to mind. At least all the girls say he gets around. :D)

Oh, wow. That would be wonderful. There's no immediate hurry here, since Sean needs to figure out what's next. His father has been in the hospital over the last few days. (Sean was coming back from there when the accident happened. ) His father was very ill to begin with and is in kidney failure now. :{

I'm not making this stuff up. I couldn't if I tried. The young man has been hit with a long string of bad luck and we are trying to turn that around somehow. I think everyone knows good people who just have a long string of bad luck. My wife can make plans for as quick a trip as possible to Houston if it comes to that. She thinks our `96 CTD would easily pull a car trailer. :)

TDR members are great people.
