Going home after 3 months of riding around our great country. Towing a 5th wheel about 14,000. 200 miles from home check engine light comes and a message . Service DEF see dealer. Fine will do . A min later new message will derate to 5 mph in 150 miles . When you have 200 more miles to go... not good . When the 125 warning came up I looked for a wide spot to park. Got out the scanner hooked it up and prayed it was a glitch and I could clear it. Code came up , cleared it and it stayed gone. I had 3/4 tank of DEF at the time . I highly recommend carrying one , given all the electronics in these trucks. They can save your bacon ! Also had dealer do the SCR upgrade yesterday. Guess I can sleep easier knowing that Big Whitey is not fouling the air. I miss the rolling smoke days.:D:D

Works well with diesel, has smoothed some worry out when the SES light or the codes started flashing. Last diesel I had was a mid 80's rabbit didn't have any of the EBS stuff on it. $ of the codes were random glitches, once and done an gone. One was something for the dealer but it turned out it was software glitch. If you watch you can catch these on sale and with the 20% off it beats the same imports from other sites at higher prices. If I go on any trips I will be hauling this in the basic tool kit.
You can say what you want about the horrible fright stuff, for the back yard basher and thrasher occasional use can't beat the price!
Worked on the wife's gas Chevy equinox
I have a 2016 2500 4x4
All most forgot what is in the manual or you always can down load it from their web pages.

Have you been able to look at the ABS settings yet? I have a periodic light come on possibly from a bad sensor that I'd like to find something to scan the ABS stuff with. This might be the right scanner for me.

I haven't had a need to use that section of it yet. But it should work, With the return guarantee at the stores and online if you don't find it works like you need it to return it to them for a refund. If you down load the manual section on ABS,it should give you an indication if it will do what you want to check. You can download the manual from the web page of any product free. I always read the manual first to make sure the item will work for my purpose. It does cover medium duty trucks
