2006 New 3500 DRW

Typical Chinese knockoff. Those people don't design anything, they counterfit, steal, copy whatever they want and we suck it up.

Buy one and you loose your right to ever complain about anything... .....

Not exactly! This is actually Honda fault. They were having engines and generators built in China. I've heard everyother one was built there. Then the patents ran out and so did the loyalty, lol. These motors that are built in china are a direct replacement for the honda. All the parts interchange, only thing different is the price tag and the sticker on the outside. So far these china engines have neen fine. As far as the generators we haven't tried them yet.

Do you guy's think the 3000ti would run the ac unit on our rv's on the low setting not high cool? Don

rrab 1,

My understanding is that, the higher in elevation (mountains) and/or the hotter it gets, the harder that unit has to work. If you are starting with a minimal amount of power & encounter any of those obstacles, you could have a problem.

Yamaha has a unit that has a "boost technology" that gives an extra 500 watts of power, on start-up, I believe. The unit was quiet & looked pretty good, to me.

i think the best deal is the one that Ryobi makes. It is 3200 continous and 3600 max. The 3k that honda makes is 3000 max and 2600 continous. Honda just came out with a 6K but i have not seen one in action yet. All of these are inverter series generators, ( the only generator work buying in my opinion if you are running below 6k. The honda 2k are 2k max and 1800 continous.

The parts may be interchangeable (I bet not all) but the quality is not the same. We use lots of generators in the construction industry and I have tried some of these chinese knockoffs. They will not last long running 8 hours a day 5 days a week. We run Honda GX390/400 powered generators 18 months before the motors wear out. The chinese copies don't last 6 months and the parts fall off, oil leaks, gas leaks and numerous other problems crop up way to often. Most of the large retailers are (Costco,Walmart, Sears, Pep Boys, etc. ) buy this junk and rebadge them with american sounding names. They pay so little for them that if 25% come back they still make a killing. Most people don't use them enough (only for emergencies) to even know they bought junk.

I have the Yamaha 3000 inverter w/boost technology. It has run hours on end in hot July heat powering a 15,000 BTU A/C in a 31' RV. It gets regular maintenance after those long hot hours.

I also have a Chinese made generator that has run maybe 100 hours in the three years that I have had it and parts have already wore out and have been replaced with baling wire.

For just a few dollars more you can go first class - for years to come. Or, you can go second class and save a few bucks for a few months.

the chinese one, is it an inverter? i bet not

Yes, i looked it over carefully. It's an EU2000 or an exact copy. I have a honda and except for the color everything was identical, even the instructions on the gascap and the ***-backwards instructions for the choke.

funny..... People seem to have an issue with the Chinese "knockoffs" but never think twice about buying from Japan..... Pearl Harbor seems to pop in my mind when I am out shopping!...

tho not asked for... that was my two cents

I agree, i have a chinese nockoff and the quality is very poor. the fuel cap leaks and the site glass for fuel level fogged over on the first use. I now have to wait until it runs out or shut it off to check the gas.

it seems like every time i run it i have to adjust the idle to get a good 12volts out of it. I've seen it as high as 30+Volts on the 12 volt's plug.

I wont go cheap again. I was thinking two of the 2000's and cable them together. this way i can only use one if not running the air.
