was doin' a run to BASF in Wyandotte, Mi again last nite. A grand cherokee passed me like I was sitting still ( I was doin' 75) I opened it up. Wouldn't go over 99-100 mph. Is this all I can get??
You didn't mention what gears you have but my 2001 h/o 6 speed with 3;54 gears will pull to over 115 and that's up here at 4,500 feet m. s. l. bye the way my truck is bone stock.
I know for a fact that the 2001's have a speed limiter on the ECM. Not sure when it started but I personally can bury the needle on my 2k and still have plenty of juice left over.
Thought the wifes stock 2001 is gutless above 100mph.
I had to try once "just to see if it would" and mine got between 115 and 120 before I chickened out and backed off. I think the truck woulda kept going but thoughts of what would happen to me in a 7000lb truck if I had a blowout at those speeds talked me out of it...
On the 12-valve, the 4K GSK does wonders, last race I had on the expressway, I let off after the needle was WAYYYY past the 120 mph mark ( had the needle pegged on the trip reset botton )and only let off because I do not trust my tires. But trust me when i tell you, I was only @ 3800 rpm with about 200 more to go!
Now before the GSK, I could 100 mph after being launched off and aircraft carrier steam catapult, down hill, and with a 60 MPH tail wind. JK
One thing is for sure, I can never say enough for what GSK do for the 12 valves!
FYI, My truck is auto, 3. 54, 285/75/r16 (slightly taller than stock)
Holy crap I had no idea a cummins would move that fast. and that peaple would actually drive a truck of that size that fast. I must have no guts because I am off the loud pedal at 90 period!! Yikes I hope I am not ever on the same roads as you speed demons. LOL. Power to you Guys!!:--)
