Tomorrow, my 2001 Ram 3500 will leave the drive way for the last time! After many great miles and years of fantastic trips, we have sold the Dodge and purchased a Freightliner. Wanted something with a little more power, both for pulling and stopping, so this was our choice.

Truck is powered by a Cat C9 motor and has an Allison transmission, full air suspension, cab and seats. It will take a little getting used to I'm sure, but we are excited about traveling in out new truck. I would not have been able to keep my truck in the condition it is in, without all the information and help that I have received from this forum..... Than you all!

Very nice! I know a couple fellows who have gone this route and their only regret was that they didn't do it sooner. That 2001 is/was a nice looking rig as well.

Congrats SR!
Nice looking Freightshaker you got there, plus the difference in comfort/confidence will be amazing.

"Shakulater"..... HA! Freightliners.... :shakehead: You're still shaking an hour after you get out of one.....

Still, it's a drivetrain upgrade from the Dodge, and certainly better brakes!! I'm sure you'll love it. Should make 500k easy, with less maintenance. Less chance of flats, better brakes, better ride, and better vision in traffic....

I've thought of cutting down my '81 W900 for years. It would certainly make a good hauler, but the 855ci Cummins is a bit much for a travel trailer, I guess..... :D
