I have a brand new 3850 dual disk. I am also switching from a 4500 to a 5600 trans. The clutch disks fit the 5600 input no problem. I went to put it the flywheel on the crank and it won't fit. The ring gear for the starter engages the starter and the flywheel itself hits the nose cone of the stock starter. There was no starter spacer or any note of having to do anyhting except bolt it on. Anyone ever hear of this before or do I have the wrong flywheel?

Of course SBC is closed until 8 am tomorrow...

Thanks,

Mark

OK, so I spoke with Peter, yep, there is supposed to be a little starter spacer that comes with the clutch. It is on it's way. Will be here tomorrow.

Thanks cahammer and thanks to Peter at South Bend Clutch.

You do need a starter spacer to complete your install. Cummins part #3949583. Make sure you get longer bolts as well. Cant remember the part # for them. Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
