I need some information please!!! I have a problem with a clutch(NOT SBC) that I had installed by a local shop. The clutch has to be replaced to stop the shuddering. The truck was down and I need a clutch. . NOW and didn't have time to get a SBC here to get the truck back on the road.

Now for the question. . How does the Con O work when pulling a trailer(5er)? When backing the trailer into a campsite or starting off from a stop light with trailer in tow. How smooth is the clutch????

I just need some real life users of the Con O in towing situations...

Oh yes... this will be the new home of a SBC...

Thanks

Rick

The Con O is a great clutch, it is smooth in every application that I have put it in. A couple of weeks ago I backed my brother in laws back hoe up a steep gravel driveway, I had to keep feathering the clutch to keep the rear tires from spinning and it was smooth as silk every time.

It's a great clutch!!! I holds all my power towing, I have got it to slip speed shifting but it still work great after!!!!

Rick you can't go wrong with this clutch!!!

RHarvey, if I didn't know better I would say that was my truck. I even have a checken slide that the one you have. My first test with the clutch will be in a couple of weeks when I pull the 5er to Kerrville. I figure the tagalong with a couple of 4 wheelers don't count for much. So far I realy like mine.

Okie-go,

This is a Texas truck!!! It was bought new at a dealer in Corpse Christy(forgive spelling), and was bought by an oil company...

Who knows it might have been yours... .

Keep me posted on your first tow. .

call blair pine... ... ... ... ...

he is pulling 15k with a con O... ... . he can advise you properly

I dont think any one has more exp with a con O than him

B... .....

The Con O is smother than stock, simply the best for moderately HP trucks. I would say 350 hp or so the problem is it will hold way more HP and that could be a problem if you are a Major Hot Rodder.

I agree, mine is smoother than stock and no shudder anytime under any conditions including back TT up hill with a 2wheel drive truck. My HP is 417 and Con O flat doesnt slip even when giving Mustangs attitude adjustments. Just DO IT.

OK you talked me into it... Now when I visit the shop next week to talk problems with the current clutch(NON_SBC) I will suggest that we install the SBC...

I knew I had ask the right people... ..... :D :D :D

I'll keep you posted on the outcome...

Ok here is the latest in the clutch shudder... .....

I took the truck back to the shop yesterday for them to find out what is happening. The bottom line was the clutch is working the way that it is ment to work and hold the power, but the shudder is caused by the extra torque that my truck is making.

So the owner called a former employee that now owns his own business doing diesel trucks(hp updrades). And the outcome was that the clutch that is needed to be installed in my truck is the SBC. Then owner called me to explain that the clutch needed to come out and be replaced with the SBC to make it work correctly. I also told the owner that he needed to talk to Peter and set up his repair shop as a local distributor.

So sometime in the next few days... I will have the clutch that I wanted in the first place and a local dealer for the SBC... . This is major cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
