Hey! clutch installed! 5-6 hours. $600 inlabor.

Old disk, the springs were loose. like I could prolly squeez them just a little and pop them out. Flywheel good, slight ware where the clutch disk met. Pressureplate, I can't tell anything. looks normal to me.

The new one doesn't vibrate like the old did! Solved that problem. There is however a slight vibration still when you disenguage and enguage the clutch, If your sitting still, press in the clutch and rev the motor to 2500+ rpm you can feel hte clutch disk I think rattling around though the peddle. This normal?

So far 50 miles total. Working well.

Question about peddle pressure and enguagement point and shifting firmness. The pressure is more, I think my old pressure plate was jacked to the point it was soft (something I liked). Now my clutch peddle is more like my buddys stock clutch. It tends to enguage lower (ealier) in the peddle throw. The stocker was near the top (broke? wore out?). But at the same time it is more difficult to change gears. have to put more effort into this. You can hear the syncro's more as they spin up the gears and all that.

What can I do about the slave cylinder to change the enguagement point? Is it broke possibly? Do these things ware out? or work or don't work? I was pondering the heavy duty master/slave from SBC, but what good is that if it doesn't help where and when the clutch enguages.

Also, when changing gears to get a rather easy gear change, you have to make sure you tap the floor with the peddle, typicaly you can go most of the way...

ideas?

Your are probably are going to need to upgrade your hydrolics, to bring your pedal back to normal, the stock stuff sucks! you can get the kit from SB.

yep ,they have the old system converted to use in our trucks.

yeah I called about that. $200. It's adjustable as well. But I was ensured that the stock hydrolics on the 3rd gen could handle this clutch.

As I now have 80miles of city driving, things are loosening up a bit. I'll give it about 500 miles to see what's up be fore I change anything.

transmission's lossening up

Finally got the transmission to shift quickly, like with the stock clutch.

Took about 1000 miles, but it's getting better.
