Where can i get Redline MTL

New to site but not diesels

Those of you that have these, how are they holding up to abuse?

I currently have a Con FE, and I will be needing a better clutch for sled pulling.

How is engagement compared to the FE?

I am assuming that chatter is less since the FE hub springs on my clutch are obviously bottoming out when I leave a stoplight.

I like my clutch. I have the street version. It holds the hp. It is a little hard to get in 2nd gear for some reason, but it holds all the abuse I can give it including a sled pull, drag racing, and 4th gear power shifts that break the tires loose.

Glad to see you are getting serious about the pulling thing Cliff!!!

I will also be adding a dual disc in the future (if I can still pull the horse trailer with it. )

Unless your doing sled pulls. The street version will be PLENTY beefy. These things are BAAAAD. I'm not going to name names but an insane, stupidly;) abusive, gear snatching, clutch ripping, Fort Worth boy has been thourougly abusing one on a twin turbo 12v since before they were on sale. It's still alive and holding. Now whether his is the street or the comp I'm not sure. But it was run through a couple of sled pulls on the above mentioned truck with traction bars and BAJA Claws and never complained once. In fact it had enough bite to allow our poster child to tear up his transmission later that evening(4wd high and a high rpm clutch side step probably didn't help either).

Just my . 02

Wes

You guys that are pulling with these clutches..... what kind of rpm's are you guys coming out the hole at and how far are you slipping it?

It has never failed me, of course, I'm not afarid to use ALL my rpm and gear coming out of the hole, it may help good clutches live!! LMAO!!!

How come you ain't at work?

2nd set of discs this summer?! Are you serious? How many hooks are we talking? I put 60+ hooks on my Haisley comp clutch last year. 4500+ rpm coming out, slipping out 50,60,70 feet sometimes. We put a new floater in over the winter, but the discs had wore very little. Probably put 20 hooks on it in the last month and a half. We'll see what it looks like in a couple of weeks.

but the thing you gotta remember is this clutch is beyond streetable. Pedal pressure is easy than stock... I know I drive both everyday. The clutch is not grabby and has a stock feel to it. These clutches can sled pull AND drag race.

CumminFast how long have you had your SBC DD Street? How many pulls do you have on it?

This is the clutch that I'm looking at going with soon because I want to sled pull only occasionally. I'm planning a few upgrades within the next few months, but I'm not planning on going more than 450HP and pulling 4 times a year at the most!

What do you think?

Well,

The street version is no different to drive than the comp. the comp just grabs a lot harder.

the street is a 12 puck miba clutch and the comp is a 9 puck carbonic.

It grabs and holds. I had the street then changed to the comp.

The comp takes the abuse and even my wife could drive it.

oh, and sleddy... I could give it all the rpm i have and it wouldn't care. I do it daily;):D

Mark, in your opinion is the competition any less streetable than the street?

What, if any pros & cons are there between the two?

The comp is no less streetable to me.

Both make a stock clutch feel like a wet sponge. :D:D:D

They are very touchy at first but get to be old hat in short order.

sorta like the first time you try to ease out on an ConFE but the DD's will snatch a 600+hp motor back to idle if the pedal is not used properly.

I wouldn't have anything but the comp and I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a daily driver.

I sorta like being able to get rubber in 5 gears. ;):)

Get Rubber is an understatement.

Kicking the A$$ end out at 80+ on a 4-5 powershift would be a better description.

Drifting is so big in Japan that Mark thought he out to try it in Texas. And Texas style at that-In a four wheel drive stacked diesel. Just use your imagination for a minute.

Two rear tires blazin' rear end kicked out to the 4 o'clock position going 80mph.

Oh and don't forget Mark grinning like a mad scientist.
