Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Code Questions

Does anyone have any experience with the DTC P0252 code stated as "Injector Pump 1 rotor and cam performance"??? The MIL light came on in my truck a few days after replacing my first lift pump at 24k- I did this after installing a FPG and realizing that my factory one had been cutting in and out for who knows how long. The truck seems to be running fine, and never gave any hint that the original lift pump was bad. The light set after I had been running the truck pretty hard, and was letting it idle at cool down. I cleared the code and it hasnt come back- yet. Is it certain doom in the near future for my pump, or could this just be a fluke???

Check your pump tap wire. Remove wire plug (factory) at vp44 which has a slide lock (pull towards wheel to release) use dielectric grease on connection and reinstall. Ground wire for box needs to go to battery. Hopefully these will fix the problem. This is all assuming your lift pump is in good condition and the fuel filter is ok. If still bringing up the code you are basically down to the box or VP44.

My experience with the 253 on a 99 (fuel pump timing issue) was my previous post. Sent the box back and installed replacement. No codes and over 1 year. So yes it could be the box. I do not remember seeing anything about fuel pressure in your posts, do you know what it is during all of this ?. Sucking fumes will cause havoc.
