Scanner using CB antenna

Hey can anyone tell me if you can use your exsisting firestik CB antenna as a scanner antenna I will only be scanning vhf frequencies.

CB is in the 11 meter wave length range and VHF is in the 2 meter range. For receive it will pick some up, but probably not as well as a coat hanger. The receiver and the antenna are way off being matched.
