Scary Air Filter Question

I need to get a replacement stock air filter.

I say it's scary cuz I know hardly anyone is running stock filters anymore... but I'm in a time crunch.

Does local auto parts dealers normally stock these things, and typically what is the cost?
Anything must be cheaper than the dealer.

shawn yes its an auto parts item , can't imagine is more than 10 - 15 bucks .

Napa has them, $28 but they stock them if you have to have it yesterday.

I recently bought a Fram for my '93 from Checker Auto Parts for about $23 or $24. This was before I realized I had a K&N (I bought the truck in Jan. ) I have no idea if your air filter is the same size or model as what mine is. I hope this helps. #ad

Does the filter that you have stop dirt. I live on a dirt road and i need a filter that will stop dirt. And were did you get it. Thanks Joe.

If you live or drive in a real dusty enviornment, order a Part number 25-0880 Pre-Filter for your RE-0880 filter. It is a foam sleeve that wraps around the K&N and will prevent problems with exsessive dust.

Wow, did not even see that pic load. That red "Sleeve" is the 25-0880 Pre-Filter, it works great.

I got my Re-0880 from summitt racing. The entire setup was about 70 bucks. You need a piece of 4" tubing to put inside the Re0880 to give the hose something to clamp against. As far as stopping dirt, we will have to see. The next oil analysis will tell the story. The town I live in has the worst dust problems in the spring so it should be a good test.
