Schaeffer Lubricants??

I don't want to start any fights, but I am considering switching to the following Schaeffer lubricants:



#267 Supreme Gear Lube - Front and rear differential

#204S Dexron III Supreme ATF - Transfer Case

#700 Supreme 7000 SAE 15W-40 - Engine



Is anyone currently using these products?

Have you had good performance when using them?

Any other recommendations?

I don't use Schaeffer's personally but know a few who do, mostly performance guys.

All I can say is Schaeffer's is the very best dino oil available.

I use them in my Ram. Shafeffers is great oil,we have used it for 7 yrs in all our equipment,and trucks,we havent had any issues with any of our motors or bearings. . You cant go wrong,just do it,and get your oil sampled,so you can get on a schedule for hrs/mileage. I dropped 30 degrees average temps in my rear differential just by going form factory fill to the #267 gear lube. I use the x200 engine oil 15w40 and change at 7000 miles with supermentals,or 3000 miles with BD7 injectors. You might want to try there grease,its a semi synthetic comes in tubs or tubes,and it is awesome. Alos worth trying is the diesel treat 2000 . Diesel treatment,I use it quite a bit.

I stay pretty busy with work and usually have my oil changed at a place in town. Their standard procedure (as with most oil change palaces) is to suck the lube from the differential using a pneumatically operated vacuum pump. Do you think this would be acceptable when switching to the Schaeffer lubricant? I have read several threads where members have removed the rear diff cover completely to drain the fluid, but none have mentioned using a vacuum pump.



Additionally, what engine oil does the x200 reference? I checked the Schaeffer web site http://www.schaefferoil.com/ and was unable to find the engine oil that you described.

Brent, x200 is #151. I go thru probably 50 gallons a season of it. I have never sucked out the differential fluid,I laways pull the cover,so i cant comment on whether it would be OK. If you have a limited slip diff,you'll need the add a tube of mopar additive,or it'll chatter.

I use the Supreme 7000 15w-40 in my engine... I've used it for about 7k now and have seen no ill effects. I get it from where I work for cost, so it's only $2 more for 6 gallons then Delo 400 runs me in the store. I figure that if I change my oil filter every 5k and my oil every 10k, I'll be good to go. I did however do a full engine cleanout with the Schaeffer recommended procedure, then I changed out the first synthetic stuff at 3k as another cleanout... now I'm going to go 5k and change the filter, then another 5k and probably have an analysis done before changing it.

My dad has run Schaeffers off and on since the mid 70's and I've been running Schaeffers supreme 7000 for about 2 1/2 years. I have run it since 10'000 miles in my Cummins Dodge and change the oil when it gets to add, usually at about 12,000 miles, heres the last sample I pulled at 76,675 miles with 11,019 on the oil.

They recommend increase drain interval to 13,000 miles



I have a John Deere 6068T 6. 8 ltr stationary pump engine with 8,700 hrs (thats about 350,000 miles) in the shop now that loosened the nut on the oil pump drive gear and lost oil pressure,(the Murphy gauge's did their job and shut it down) I pulled a rod bearing to check for damage today and saw very little wear, and no damage at all from the short period without oil It runs 24/7 all summer and has run the supreme 7000 its whole life at double length changes, 500 hrs instead of 250, and was quite clean inside, no deposits at all and only a very light black film on the oil pan.

I use the supreme 7000 in mine. I bought my 92 from the local Schaffer dealer and he ran it sense new and I kept using it. Sold truck at 175K and never used more than a quart or 2 in a ten thousand mile change. I'm very happy with the stuff.
