Growing hot peppers - any tips?

I've been looking at getting one for around town etc - man have they changed - you can spend all the way up to $8500 for a 650cc that will get you into all sorts of trouble... . I'm looking at something that I can take NOT ON THE FREEWAY - but to store - in town - small trips - usually 5 miles or less... ... Max CC would be a 250 due to $$$$$. I has an old 88 Honda elite 150 years ago and sold it - wish I hadn't... ... . Anybody have any of the Italian things?????

I been researching scooters lately too. I'm looking for something highway legal, but since I have no experience on a MC, I'm a big intimidated by the idea from a safety point of view. A friend of mine with a Harley suggested getting a used 150cc to drop a few times before "getting emotionally attached" to a nice bike. I've been watching the forums at http://www.burgmanusa.com/ for advice.

I would suggest staying away from the Chinese and European scooters. Most of the Chinese scooters are not EPA certified and cannot be licensed. The European scooters are limited by dealer parts and service support. Just not enough dealers out there.

Stick with the 3 Japanese manufacturers, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki. If you plan on any use requiring 50mph speeds you need to stick with the larger scooters or better yet a small street bike. The smaller wheels on the scooters can get you into trouble if your not careful.

I used to have a Honda moped at one time. It was an "Iowa Urban Express". Had a 50cc engine. Got me around pretty good when I was teenager. Used it for checking crops, too.

What about a bicycle? You can get a rack with baggage. No gas, no oil, no registration. etc. Plus you will get in better shape. Just a thought, maybe the trips are too far to be practical for you.

We have 2 of the Honda Vespa wanna be's (Metropolitan). Not mnuch to say about them. They are cheap and they work. No problems at all. They'll go about 37 mph. We have them down at my parents place down in Florida as toys basically but I would not mind one for here running errands, however like someone else said I just ride my bicycle instead. Price is right but I think you are more distance and weather limited with a bicycle.
