1AEA6A79-E566-4F11-8265-AD62BD3E3D47.jpeg Anyone ever add a little sea foam to the automatic transmission before changing the oil ? The old original sea foam not the new transmission sea foam ?

Absolutely not. That stuff is to clean gasser fuel systems. Why would you even consider putting it in a transmission? There's nothing that cleans better than ATF. I've heard old timers talk about putting ATF in an engine to clean an engine out.

Found this stuff.

I used SeaFoam Trans Tune in my old 98 Chevy that wouldn't shift and whined like heck. Poured it in, drove about an hour, and it stopped the whine and shifting got smoother. Did a fluid & filter change immediately after and had no problems over the 8 years I had it.

Unless I'm TERRIBLY mistaken, he's talking about putting ORIGINAL Sea Foam IN his transmission. The Mopar stuff is for flushing the cooler and lines, not running in the transmission, and the Sea Foam Trans Tune is meant to be added to the transmission fluid.

Oh, yeah no some builders reccomend DEX3 depending on the build.

ATF+4 is a awesome fluid by the book.

Somehow I though wanted to flush the thing out.

Trannys are something I've never added anything but OEM recommended fluid or better. Been skeered of additives... especially moder electronic trannys which all kinds of plastics, gaskets, and metals.

Anyhoo, some may have good experiences with additives and cleaners, I have had great experience without them.

Cheers, Ron
