How big a job is it to do? Mechanic said they have to redo the timing gears and stuff. How many hours to do it? He said wait till the winter when I am not busy but now it is drip drip drip. He just did the front crank seal as that was leaking and the pan may have a small leak:mad: This thing turn to a pile of leaks at 125,000. Thanks!

I would say he is talking about the gear housing to block gasket. PIA for sure. Cam has to come out along with the VP, rockers, pushrods, etc. My guess, experienced mechanic, probably 10 hours labor minimum with no distractions.
Surely he has already checked the KDP situation.
BTW, mine is leaking a bit also. Not looking forward to the repair.

The 24valves are a lil bit easier than the 12vers,IRRC the cam flat rate is about 9hrs and the gear case a bit more

I had the oil leak between the timing gearcase and block.

I pulled the radiator which I had to clean. I pulled the cover off, and tightened 4 or 5 torx head bolts that I could reach. I also checked the kdp which can be a problem on the 24 valve. None of the bolts were really loose but I could snug each one up just a little. That stopped my leak. I also replaced the front crank seal.
