So what's the poop on my "sealed-for-life" front wheel bearings? How long is "life"?? Until the rotors go below minimum minimum thickness? Should I start a trust fund now? I couldn't believe my GM-driving buddy (he really DOES know better) when he told me his spindles and rotors are throw-away units for that very reason. Just unbolt the whole rig from the A-frames and pitch it! And now I find out I have the same thing?!

hubs/rotors

My 95 cost me 375 each for the hubs only, rotors are about 100 a pop. not a good design, i would like to see manual locking hubs on the newer trucks, but chrysler has their cash cow.

Sealed Front Wheel Bearings

Yep, the sealed front wheel bearings began with the '00 4x2 trucks. My '00 truck had them, no problems, but I never had to replace the pads or rotors... it was a 6 speed with a PacBrake. :D

my 97 4x4 has sealed bearings. AT about 140,000 I got nervous that someday they would wear out and replaced the hubs and rotors. They were still good at that time.

My 98. 5 had 400,000 on it when I sent it to the glue factory & they were still OK so don't worry just drive-er & remember to smile at powerjokes when you pass them going up hill:D

Are you sure that the spindle and brake rotor are one piece?

My 02 has brake rotors seperate. I remove my hubs and repack even though they are '' not serviceable'' I made a special tool to do it gently and so far so good

I just replaced my left hub on my 3500 the brake rotor is seperate from the the hub you get just the bearing and wheel flang. Its the same from a 2500 to 3500 2 wheel drive duals or single.
