I own a 1996 Mainliner enclosed car trailer. The top is one sheet of aluminum that is sealed to the side walls of the trailer. The sealer is a grey looking material that was applied in a 1 inch wide strip around the perimeter. The grey sealer has some give to it, but is more tenacious than just regular silicone. Anyway, there are some leaks devloping at the seams so I need to re-seal the edge of the roof. What should I use? The grey sealer that is up there now has done a good job for 7 years, but I don't know what material it is.

Also, the inside walls of the trailer are some kind of white laminent board. One of the leaks made the wall "puffy" in one area. Where can I find more of this laminent material so I can replace that section of the wall?

On my enclosed car trailer I've used the white "kool seal" patch used on mobile home roof. It has worked great for me.

Just make sure you get the "patch" not the regular roof coating. The patch is more of a paste whereas the coating is more liquid.

I used an aluminum paint that had a soft rubber consistancy on my TT. It would hold for years. Painted it in 1973 and it never leaked until I sold it in 1984. It also cut down somewhat on the heat transfer.

Don't remember where I got it, but it was designed for mobile home roofs.
