searching issues

I'm having trouble searching for multiple words in a post. If I search for transmission and filter I get all the posts that have either of the two words. I only want the posts thathave both. I've tried quotes and using the operator "and". What am I doing wrong?

i tried same search using

transmission, filter

which should find only posts with both occurances and got a reply above the threads stating that the word: transmission, occured so often that it was omitted from the query and the search was performed on the remaining word of: filter. the posts that are presented have the key or searched for words highlighted in the thread

I must of mised "the occurs too many times part" I'll keep working with it.

There is a post in the TDR Website/rountable FAQ forum (inside of this one) that addresses this stuff - How do I search on the TDR Forums?. If you are showing results as threads then it will search for transmission and filter inside of the entire thread even if they are on two different posts. If you tell it to show results as posts then it will only show posts that have the words transmission and filter inside of the same post.
