I have a 01 2500 swb 4x4 bought it in aug 03' 100k miles now- my trans shifts btween 2nd and 3rd at 30-35 mph like it is searching for the correct gear- does anyone else have this problem? Or is it normal ?
Had similar "sloppy 2 - 3 shift" w/my 99. Changed trans fluid and adjusted bands according to info found here and all is well again. Do a search for band adjustment - you will find more info than you ever imagined. Or, I think there may be info easier found within the TSB area.
I drilled a small hole in the throttle position sensor and washed it out with spray electrical contact cleaner. Engine has been clean, I thing you just get wear dust inside the tps. Been just fine for a year +. Cost me about 10 bucks at Redio Shack.
Call Bill or Stefan at DTT and they have several ways to solve the searching. I bought a filter for the electrical system and that cured my seeking problems but could be something else?
