Remove competition from the list and then your talking about a reliable driver? By driver I mean fun to drive, no lag, no egt problems, smoke in control, tow's good. Something you can drive every day at full power doing what people do with trucks while having a helluva good time. I am throwing in at full power because having a truck that can hit 500 on a dyno but cant be run at much over 350 hp on the street doing what trucks do aint really got 500 streetable ponies in my mind. Anyhow if thats what your talking about it looks to me that we might be just about there with the 3g's. With the timing boxes getting ready to hit crossing the 500 hp line wont be a problem, the only thing that has to get figured out is what works best in a setup designed to be a driver rather than a setup aimed towards pulling max power on a dyno. I am working toward this very goal and as soon as the smart people get things figured out Im going to be seeing how close I can get. Wont be any bragging rights out of it but I'll be having alotta fun.

Mark, the 2004 is also in my signature. The dealer promised me  it has 12 valves and the huge Borg-style wiring harnesses are just for display purposes :D

Seriously though, the 2004 is a great truck and fun to drive. I love the 4 doors and am very impressed with the brakes.

Krabman, I have a little trouble following your posts. If your post is regarding Richard's truck, then simply gimme a few pointed questions and I'll give you some straight answers.

Not talking about anyone's truck in particular. Case in point is I have no idea who Richard would be. There is no hidden agenda. I have been following this post from the begining and those are some pretty tough goals to meet in their entirety. I have no idea how you would or could do all of those things reliably. Once you take competition out of the question and the difficulties involved in making a truck be both competitive in whatever venue be it sled pulling, quartermileing, top dog on the dyno, the question then becomes much simpler. Can you get to 500 hp without undue smoke or egt problems etc. Isnt that what he is asking? If your talking about what is streetable hp then everyone is going to have a different view of what is streetable. What I was meaning or refering to is... Imagine a truck that can hit 500 hp but drives around 99% of the time with the comp defueling because otherwise the smoke would get him arrested. Is this guy honestly driving around at 500 hp or does he have a truck that can hit 500 hp on a dyno? I would say the latter. This is only one example but you get the idea. Others might disagree but thats my view.

I do believe that Richard's (Maddog) truck is a "Daily Driver". I'm not sure about any lag or smoke issues but I seriously doubt it has any undesireable caracteristics. Besides the fact he's at 800 RWHP. 500 RWHP and "99%" streetable is no longer that tough to obtain. And I do mean without any undesireable Lag, smoke or EGT issues.

 :D

Today he was in 4x4 on the side of some mountain picking up flagstone for/with his dad. Deffinately a daily driver.

Joe; I see the sig now; I was looking for another line.

I'm finally getting around to bombing this one. I'm starting with the mandatory stuff; gauges, intake, exhaust. I'm going to hold-out on the 'box' and injectors until the next round of boxes come out with timing and pulse control to see how they compare. Hopefully I can put the finishing touches on just before or during May madness 2004. If I can be that patient... .

As I said everybody has a different idea of what streetable means. That isnt what I am getting at. What Im saying is having a truck thats a daily driver and hits 500hp on a dyno but doesnt drive at that power level on the road because of smoke or other issues is not IMO a 500 hp daily driver. Its a 350 hp daily driver or whatever level its actually driven at. Thats my opinion folks, plain and simple. I aint askin you to agree with it. Opinions vary. I now know that Richard would be MADDOG. If you didnt get it the first time I wasnt talking about him. I've heard his numbers (awsome) but dont know him, have never seen his truck and in fact dont know anything about it or its mods. 500 full time hp with no smoke or other issues not that tough to obtain? Hymm... wouldnt every other truck on the rollers be there in that case? I gotta disagree with you on that one Kurt.
