Seat Belt chimes

Reading in TDR 114 about turning off the seat belt chime and I have a 2016 2500 and tried to do this procedure and soes not turn off the chime. I was wondering if anyone besides me has had this problem with the procedure in "YOUR STORY" in TDR 114 page 16 , thought mabey there is a missing step or something else. I have done this process at least 3 times to no avail, I have the Key Fob ignition switch with no remote start.. Thanks for any responses to this Question.

I used the same procedure on my 2014. It may have taken a time or two! Make sure that there are no codes pending as this may throw a wrench into the procedure. Hope that you'll get it to work as the chime can be annoying! Good luck!

Read the instructions twice and go slow. I did it on my 2022 and it took 2x to get it done.

I hear everyone saying go slow try again, but I have a 14 and an 18 I could never get it to work on. I have done it on my 03, 04, and 13. My 18 I got the dealer to turn it off. The 14 I had at the shop back last fall same dealer and they told be they could only do it now if I had a doctors prescription for it to be off for health reasons. Yeah I hear you go to another dealer, well the service manager is a good friend and he told me his hands are tied now.

I just bought a seat belt extender and keep it plugged in. No more dinging Also on line they have just the metal ends that plug in. One for my wife’s car when I drive it and one for rentals. About $10 for two
Solved my problem with the dinger and I can still buckle up when I want to. Choices

No issues on my 05 or 18, nor dads 06 or 17.

I guess I will go at it slower again. I just thought that I may have missed a step or something similar. I never get the ding at the final step.

I got mine to work. I also got rid of the key-in chime as well. That one drove me nuts!
