I replaced the front seat in my 98 3500 CTD with a seat out of the bone yard. There comp said it was a fit, the seat is excellent, like new. I dont know what year of ram it came out of but its an identical match down to the seat fabric and color... However the old seat that came out had 3 wires coming from the drivers side seat belt retractor thing up in the corner of the seat where the belt comes through and this three wire harness comes down and plugs into the main harness under the seat. the new seat did not come with a new main harness and box that is bolted to the underside center seat. I installed the old harness in the new seat and everything plugs in but the new seat on the drivers side has an extra wire and a 4 plug conector instead of a three wire and plug. 3 of the new seats wires are the same color code as the old seat with the extra wire being Blue with a white strip. Can I safely eliminate the blue wire on the new seat so I can hook up to the old 3 wire harness? Thanks Tim

If the 4 pin connector is for the seat belt warning light only I'd leave it alone for now. I'm assuming that it's not for electric motors? Call the bone yard ask what year the seat was out of and then maybe someone else can better answer your question.

I had a guy on the MML email me a wiring diagram for this harness. He ownes a repare shop in OH. The blue wire with the white strip is for a dash light to warn me Im not buckeled. The other wires are the same color code .
