Seat Belts in '99

My front seat belts stopped extending. It seems a computer type module electrically locks/unlocks the spring type extending feature. Anyone have any ideas? Where might this animal be hiding? I'm out of warranty by a couple miles , about 20,000.

In my '98 its under the center seat. There's a TSB on these that has to do with them locking and unlocking when going around corners and/or under hard braking or acceleration. They'll make a clicking or racheting sound in your left ear. But locking up entirely like yours is new.

Don't know what the buggers cost, but I'll bet they're expensive. That's why I haven't fixed mine yet (I'm out of warranty). Get your taken care of while you can.

I think I would still try to take it back screaming about safety. My seatbelts have "locked up" while driving long trips. They then tighten up as you drive. Sounds like a safety recall issue to me, and if there is a large enough audience, and you talk loud enough, that should be enough to get a free fix. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Two dif dealers said no way under warranty. I'll never PAY to have a DC dealer FIX my truck. I think I'll call and price a new module.

1500 - 3000 in 4th = 13 sec
VA,1500- 3000 in 4th = 10 sec
275,1500 - 3000 4th = 11. 15 sec
slight mpg increase both ways.
VA+275 ,1500 - 3000 = 9. 0 sec
. 5 or 1. 5 MPG increase over stock. .
PS boost module,100 to 150 lower EGT's, same power.
