Seat brackets rusting

My driver side seat brackets are rusting on my 05. I bought this truck new this JUNE! The passenger side and rear seat brackets are fine. I am just wondering if I should bring this in under warranty?

Neither floor in my 94 or 97 has ever been wet, but on both trucks the seat brackets have slight rust. It wouldn't hurt to bring it in and see what they have to say.

But why just the driver side? The passenger side is still glossy!

My 2003 and my uncle's 2003 have the same rust on the drives side seat frame. I reside in Louisiana and he resides in San Antonio, TX area. The other seat frames have not rust.

The second gens are well known for window leaks. I walked a lineup of used '96-'98s one day and found that they all had rust on the struts under the dash. Mine did too. My carpet pad got so damp that it eventually started smelling of "biology". My dealer found the window leak, and replaced the carpet and pad under warranty. It was the rear slider to body seal that was leaking and allowing a minute trickle of water to run into the passenger side foot well.

My 1998 1500 has never been wet other then normal use. The seat brackets have had a slight film of mild rust since year two. Never has gotton worse or anything. My 03 is the same deal. Never have given it much thought or worried about it.

Do you drive mostly alone? Sweat is salty. It wicks it away from your body. Just a thought. I may be all wet.

Spray it with armor-all.

OK I can see the sweat is SALTY thing if the truck was a couple of years old! But I just bought the truck in June. It was brand new and now only has 4800 miles on it!

My 03 is the same way. 6 months after new it started.
