FINALLY got this wish list item done!
Last week I went and ordered Geno’s reproduction seat cushion replacement for my 04.5 premium driver seat. I just now completed the installation and tested it out. I’m here to say that it was worth every penny. The old cushion was worn through along the inside metal rib, and was starting to effect my leg. The new one actually boosts you up quite a bit. I’ll have to work on getting it to settle down.
Installation notes:
-Do remove the seat. 4 nuts, one plug (for power seats) and it’s out. Makes dealing with the “J” hooks for the cover much easier.
-You’ll need patience in getting the new cushion “tail” down under the seat back. I used lots of persuasion and a long nose plier to pull it through.
-As Geno’s instructions say, now is a good time to clean under there, and I also lightly lubed all the jack screws.
