Any one know why when I hit the seat heater on the ds whether its high or low it goes back to the hi indicator and flashes and no heat?

Here's what the 2003 service manual has to say about the heated seat diagnostics.

I'd say you've got a burned out seat element.

You wouldn't happen to know how hard or how much it it to replace?

Not exactly, although I did install a set of aftermarket heaters that probably fit similar to the stock ones.

The manual says:

2003 Service Manual said:
Do not remove the heating element from the seat

or seat back cushion. The original element is permanently

attached to the seat cushions and cannot be

removed without damaging the cushion. The replacement

heating element is designed to be applied

directly over the original seat heating element.

I believe you simply have to remove the upholstry (not hard), and you'll find the heating elements right there. Slap the new one in place, and off you go.

seat heater

Don't know what it costs because when mine quit they were under warranty. I was under the impression that they may have replaced the entire seat, also my lumbar support quit filling, maybe that is why the replaced seat.

I called the dealer $80. 00 for the seat grid I forgot to ask what the grid on the seat back was ..... So I need to get out there and test the grids because I'm not sure if its the seat or the seat back grid now

Curious my dealer said you can't buy the grids. FWIW my truck did not come with heated seats. They are leather but no "bun warmers".

I have been looking at the Geno's kit and having that installed by a good shop, maybe at this opportunity placing some "memory foam" to soften up the seats would be in order.

Any help out there guys?
