I just received some Rostra seat heaters for Christmas this year and was wondering where you guys have been mounting the switches at. I would like to mount them somewhere in the center of the dash. I'm just looking for some ideas guy's any help is appreciated greatly.

Since I don't smoke, on the driver side I cored out the cigarette lighter. The switch fits perfectly inside the chrome ring.

On the passenger side I drilled a hole in the little plastic trim piece just above the purse hook. Even if you screw it up once, that little piece is only a few bucks from the dealer.

I copied what Ryan did, I even brought a cig light and used the chrome trim ring to make it look like the driverside!Oo.

Got em' put in today and mounted the switches in the center console near the cup holders. They work great. While at the upholstery shop I had them rebuild my drivers seat cushion, boy what an improvement. I don't feel like I'm sitting on the rails now.

Sounds like a plan. I too received seat heaters for Christmas. The problem I'm having is how to remove the skin off the seat back. I have the leather seats and it's not obvious how the seat back leather peels back. I accomplished the seat bottom install just fine. Can you run the system with only the one element installed? I still need to do my wiring. I'd really like to use the factory switches for asthetics. No doubt the the factory switches would cost as much as the Rostra kit itself, so the jury is still out. Where do the factory switches mount on an '05?

I installed my seat heaters when I converted my seats to leather in my crew cab 3500 Ram Bighorn. I think there is a zipper like closure on the lower edge of the seat back. The zipper ends are usally tucked in and have to be pulled out to unzip and remove. If this does not help I can double check my seats.
