Who’s repaired their electric seat motors? Forward-back works; front of seat up-down works; rear up-down motor does not work.

Sounds like switch or broken wires. Haven't been in on to know the exact layout, just going off common issue for faults told. At least the motor is working. Time to get the meter out and check wires. Anyone have a wiring diagram to help?

I have. My issue was the motor that moves the seat up (height adjuster) and down - the plastic gears stripped out so the motor would run but it would not move. I bought a replacement from Geno's and it was a pretty easy replacement - getting the pins out was "fun" but doable. I took the seat completely out of the truck in order to do the replacement. I found some good videos on Youtube - let me see if I can find them for you.

Here is one - I was able to leave the base in the truck and do it. This guy takes the whole thing out.

Here is the motor I ordered: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/seat-adjustment-motor-dod1/seat-components

Thanks guys! A little complex, but it looks like getting those roll pins out is the most challenging part.

My motor does not do anything when the switch is moved. Just dead. I guess it could be the switch, but I think there is more posiblity it's the motor. Hard to get in there to diagnose before ordering parts.

I used a small bit (like those that come in the drill bit sets) and vice grips to get it moving, then used the hammer and punch method to get it the rest of the way. Used the vice grips to get it back in and seated as well.

As has been said.. Most likely motors, I changed 3 over the years, on Pass side and two drivers side,.. not to bad a job just takes some time and patience, Geno's has the parts, and they come with instructions... Bonus, while seats are out is a good time to clean that carpet.

It looks like the middle switch works both motors at the same time when pressed up. So if only one motor works when that switch is moved, it’s probably the motor.
