Anybody out there ever replace the seat recliner cable? Dealer

says it doesn't use a cable I saw the busted cable and it's in the factory service manual. They don't list one... just the entire mechinism (without a cable) for $212. 00.

SV, Maybe you can build your own replacement cable from stuff you can buy at the hardware store. I haven't looked at the mechanism in our trucks so I can't say for sure that the cable and connectors from the hardware will be the right diameter, but it's worth a try.

I have a broken recliner cable, same story here dealer has no listing for part. Vincent, how did you resolve the problem? I can't believe you and I are the only two guys in the last three years with this problem.

Great... . so that makes 3 of us. Never fixed the seat mounted recliner control but the one on the backrest still works so I've made do. Also happened on the passenger side (same control) which get 1/5 th use. Looks like a real PITA to fix so when the backrest mounted control breaks on the drivers side then I guess I'll find out.

Doc had the right idea. Fixed mine for less than 2 bucks (Canadian). Went to bicycle shop new cable 50 cents. Home Depot for aluminum sleeves to join 2 one sixteenth inch cables together $1. 50 for ten. I used two, one for practice one to join the ring end of the old cable to the new one.
